Email and contact information

• Email address used for sign-in, email verification, account notices and support replies.
• Optional parent or guardian email address when a student chooses to link a parent account.
• Any information you voluntarily include when you contact our support team.

Usage and learning data

• Lessons, topics, quizzes, practice sessions, past-paper attempts and study plans you engage with.
• Answers submitted, scores, mastery estimates, streaks, achievements and progress over time.
• Technical logs such as device type, browser, approximate region, timestamps and error reports.

AI interactions and chat data

• Questions and messages you send to the AI teacher, and the responses generated for you.
• Images of homework or exam questions you upload for the AI vision feature.
• Voice recordings you submit for speech-to-text, and the text transcripts produced from them.

• To create and manage your account and keep it secure.
• To deliver AI teaching, practice, marking, past papers, study plans and revision recommendations.
• To personalise difficulty, language and content based on your mastery and learning history.
• To show progress reports to you and, where you have approved a link, to your parent or guardian.
• To operate subscriptions, credits, usage limits and billing.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• To monitor reliability, prevent abuse and improve the quality and safety of the platform.
• To send essential service emails such as verification, billing and security notices.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use student data for advertising.

• Data is stored in managed cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorised personnel.
• Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers.
• Database-level access rules ensure each account can only read and write its own records.
• Uploaded homework images are stored in private storage that is not publicly browsable.
• Passwords are never stored in plain text.

No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work continuously to protect your information and to respond quickly to any issue we identify.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run SL Mentor AI:

• Cloud hosting, database, authentication and storage providers that operate our infrastructure.
• AI model providers that process your questions, images and voice input to generate teaching responses.
• PayHere and related payment processors that handle subscription payments.
• Email delivery services used for verification and account notices.

Payments are processed by our payment partner. We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV or bank credentials on our servers. We receive only limited transaction information such as payment status, reference and amount so we can activate or renew your subscription.

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as language, and keep the service secure. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the product. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but some features, including sign-in, may not work correctly.

• Account and learning data are retained while your account is active so your progress is preserved.
• If you delete your account, personal data is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, tax or accounting purposes.
• Billing records are retained as required by applicable law.
• Aggregated and de-identified statistics that cannot identify you may be retained to improve the service.

SL Mentor AI is designed for school students, including users under 18. Students under the age of 16 should use the platform with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. We collect only the information needed for learning, we never sell student data, and we do not show third-party advertising to students. A parent or guardian may contact us to review or request deletion of a child's account information.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves or as legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice. Continuing to use SL Mentor AI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
